OnePlus 15: a new render has sparked controversy about the smartphone’s design

A fresh OnePlus 15 render has appeared on Chinese platform Weibo, which has sparked a heated discussion. Judging by the image, the expected flagship could get a design suspiciously similar to the iPhone, which looks too understated for a brand with a motto «Never Settle».
The leak shows a smartphone with a square camera module with rounded corners, three lenses and a flat back panel. The colors are in line with early rumors: Dune, Absolute Black and Mist Purple. The front of the device is not shown, but a 1.5K display with a refresh rate of 165Hz was previously reported.

What’s known about the specs
It’s confirmed that the OnePlus 15 will lose its partnership with Hasselblad and get its own DetailMax Imaging Engine. The company has already published examples of photos taken with its help.
The smartphone will also be one of the first on the market with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The configuration is expected to come with up to 12GB of RAM.
Software — Android 16 out of the box, as confirmed by Geekbench results.
A 7,000 mAh battery with support for 100-watt wired and 50-watt wireless charging will be responsible for the battery life.
