Apple’s first major keynote of the year is set for March 4. Against this backdrop, Nothing CEO Carl Pei has decided to steal some of the spotlight by scheduling the launch of their new mid-range smartphone, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, just one day after Apple’s announcement.
In a teaser, Carl Pei confirmed that Nothing’s next presentation will take place on Thursday, March 5. Instead of producing a fresh promo, he simply repurposed Apple’s official event announcement-swapping out the brand name and dates for Nothing’s own details.
This timing is clearly strategic. The successor to the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro will debut the day after the iPhone 17e reveal, allowing Nothing to pitch its device as a more compelling alternative: featuring a faster display, bigger battery, more cameras, and all at a lower price point.
Nothing’s official account on X takes a more subdued approach but also confirms the March 5 launch. Additional teasers hint the phone will come in pink and blue variants and suggest the device will offer a “pleasing tactile experience,” likely thanks to a new chassis material.
According to earlier rumors, the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4 nm process, featuring four powerful Cortex-A720 cores and four energy-efficient Cortex-A520 cores. Both the 4a and 4a Pro models are expected to offer 8 or 12 GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 128 to 256 GB.
Color choices will include classic black and white, alongside the vibrant shades teased in promotional images. The event will also likely see the unveiling of Nothing’s full-sized headphones, the Nothing Headphone (a).
