Google hints at Pixel 10 in new Best Phones Forever ad campaign

Google has released another episode of its Best Phones Forever ad mini-series, and this time the video not only mocks Apple, but also gives the first hint of the upcoming launch of the Pixel 10 lineup. The campaign kicks off with the traditional dialog between iPhone and Pixel – and ends with a teaser that says more than it seems at first glance.

iPhone is excited about the new features the Pixel already has

In a new video, the iPhone is excited about the chips Apple just announced in iOS 26. In response, the Pixel discreetly reminds us that it already has all of these features – and has for a long time. Real-time message transfer, on-hold assistant, intelligent answering machine – the iPhone lists the new features one by one, while the Pixel gently points out that they’re all already available on Android.

And while the video plays up the friendly rivalry between the two smartphones, the message is simple: Google is still ahead of Apple in software capabilities, and it does so with humor and confidence.

Pixel 10 on the horizon, but no specifics

The most interesting moment comes near the finale, when the iPhone innocently asks what Pixel is working on now – specifically, for the Pixel 10. Pixel doesn’t answer, and the clip cuts off, showing only an image of the Pixel 9 Pro. But the hint is transparent: Google has already started warming up its marketing ahead of the release of the new series.

Simultaneously, images from a promotional shoot, presumably featuring the Pixel 10 Pro or Pixel 10 Pro XL, have surfaced online. The photos were taken on a beach in Canada, and the main slogan of the upcoming flagship is “Ask more from your phone.”

When to expect the Pixel 10

So far, Google hasn’t officially announced a launch date for the Pixel 10, but one event is giving rise to speculation. The Pixel Superfans event, which was planned to show off “pre-release devices,” was originally set for June 27, but it was recently pushed back to September. That could mean that’s when the new smartphones will be released.

If you judge by the content of the ads, Google is once again banking on functional innovation, which Apple may be trying to catch up with over the next few years.
