Starfield could launch on PlayStation 5 as early as April
New reports suggest Starfield might hit PlayStation 5 on April 7, available in both standard and premium editions.
Bethesda’s plans to bring its sci-fi RPG to Sony’s console have been circulating for a while. Last year, reports pegged the PS5 release for spring 2026.
Back then, sources noted the game wouldn’t arrive on PlayStation 5 in 2025, citing “weak” sales of the first story expansion, Shattered Space. The PS5 launch is said to be timed alongside the second expansion, which will also introduce various quality-of-life improvements.

The anticipation for Starfield on PS5 intensified after Microsoft unveiled its “vision for the future of Xbox” in February 2024, announcing plans to release some of its games on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.
The first Xbox Game Studios titles to cross over were Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded. Since then, a growing slate of past, current, and upcoming Xbox games have either launched or been confirmed for the PS5.
Additionally, renowned insider Nate the Hate, known for accurate leaks on unannounced projects, revealed last year that Starfield is also expected to come to Nintendo Switch 2.
