Transparent Powerbeats Pro 2 have surfaced online

A well-known insider Sonny Dickson has published an image of a prototype of the Powerbeats Pro 2 in an unconventional design – with transparent casing through which all the main components of the headphones, including chips, speakers and battery, are visible.

Dickson notes that the photo likely captures an internal test version rather than a production-ready product. However, he doesn’t rule out that Apple could release such a modification officially. In the event of a commercial release, he said, the device would look more polished -with better fit of elements and build quality.
Transparent styling returns
This isn’t the first time Apple has experimented with a translucent design. In 2023, the Beats brand (owned by Apple) released Beats Studio Buds+ headphones with a similar design. However, they only showed off some of the internals. The prototype Powerbeats Pro 2 looks much more “technically bare”, which may attract the attention of the audience interested in gadgets.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 were announced in February 2025 and came in four colors. A transparent version was not part of the original lineup. Judging by the leaked image, it’s being considered by Apple as a potential additional modification, either for a limited release or as an internal engineering sample.
It’s not yet known whether Apple plans to release the transparent Powerbeats Pro 2 for sale, but user interest in the unadorned design remains steadily high.
