Huawei launched FreeClip 2 headphones with Harmony AI and spatial sound support
Huawei has launched the new FreeClip 2 open-ear headphones, the successor to the original model, with a number of notable improvements. Among the key innovations are — Harmony AI Ear Assistant voice assistant, dual dynamic drivers for improved sound and an even lighter body.

The loop design familiar from the first generation is retained, but now each earbud weighs just 5.1g — that’s lighter than before. The FreeClip 2 have IP57 water and dust protection, and the charging case — IP54. Inside, there are dual 10.8mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth 6 support and SBC, AAC and L2HC codecs.

The main update — a new third-generation AI chip with NPU that powers HarmonyOS AI. Users get features like real-time translation, voice assistant, audio prompts for navigation, device control and other smart features. It also supports spatial audio, adaptive volume control and a three-microphone system for noise cancellation during calls.
Other features include — drop detection up to 50 meters, headphone finder and loss protection. Battery life is up to 9 hours without recharging and up to 38 hours with the charging case. Fast charging gives you 3 hours of listening time in just 30 minutes.
Huawei FreeClip 2 is available in Blue, Sand White and Black colors, priced at 1,299 yuan (about $182). Pre-orders will start on October 14, and official sales — October 20.
