Epson has introduced new EcoTank printers with lower printing costs

Epson has announced seven new EcoTank printers that will go on sale in September. The lineup includes the ET-2950, ET-3950 and ET-4950 series, replacing the ET-2850, ET-3850 and ET-4850 models. Updates to design, performance and usability.
Family and Office
- ET-2950/51/56 — a solution for families with an emphasis on reliable, low-cost printing. Models support automatic duplex printing.
- ET-3950/56 and ET-4950/56 — are focused on the home office and small business. They get increased print speeds, an expanded paper tray, and a touchscreen in the ET-4950 version.
Savings and Resource
According to Epson, the new printers can reduce printing costs by up to 95% compared to cartridge models. One set of ink bottles replaces up to 63 cartridges and comes with up to three years’ worth of ink.
- ET-2950 prints up to 6,600 pages in black-and-white mode and up to 5,500 in color.
- ET-3950 and ET-4950 — up to 15,100 pages in black and white with an extra bottle of black ink.
- Replacing the ink set provides up to 8,500 black and white pages and 6,500 color pages.
Model life: up to 50,000 pages for ET-2950 and up to 100,000 pages for ET-3950/4950.
Speed and Features
- ET-2950 — print speeds of 15 ppm. (B&W) and 8 ppm. (color).
- ET-3950 and ET-4950 — up to 18 ppm. (B&W) and 9 ppm. (color).
All models feature a 30-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for duplex scanning and copying, front refill tanks with key lock, dual-band Wi-Fi support and an automatic pull-out tray.
The screens differ: the ET-2950 — has a 3.7-cm display, the ET-3950 — 6.1 cm, and the ET-4950 has a touchscreen. The devices can be controlled via the Epson Smart Panel — app for setup, printing from your phone and diagnostics.
