Ilon Musk admits difficulties in managing business due to DOGE operation

Ilon Musk has confirmed that his involvement in Donald Trump’s federal spending cuts initiative, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is making it seriously difficult to manage his many companies. In an interview with Fox News, the entrepreneur admitted that balancing X, Tesla, xAI, SpaceX, The Boring Company, Neuralink, and Starlink is getting harder and harder.
Ilon Musk’s comments come as he admits that he’s finding it increasingly difficult to manage his many companies.
DOGE under fire from critics
Musk plays a key role in DOGE, which already employs about 100 people and could grow to 200 in the future. However, the initiative has been heavily criticized for its inflated promises and questionable results in cutting government spending.
Government contracting experts say that DOGE’s public reports contain inaccurate data and that calculations of “savings” are inflated by misinterpretations of canceled contracts.
In addition, cybersecurity experts have expressed concern that DOGE’s practices could jeopardize government agency data. Some employees reportedly accessed sensitive information and copied it to unsecured servers without proper expertise.
Cybersecurity experts are also concerned that DOGE’s practices could jeopardize government agency data.

The link between DOGE and Musk’s business interests
Although Musk claims that working on DOGE puts a lot of pressure on him, many accuse him of using the initiative to weaken regulation of his companies.
- DOGE undermined the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which planned to increase oversight of P2P payments, including the upcoming Virtual Wallet X.
- Cut the staff of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which was investigating the dangers of Tesla’s autopilot.
- Fired the staff of the Federal Aviation Administration, which was preparing fines against SpaceX.
- Sold staff cuts at the SEC, with which Musk has a long-standing conflict.
Musk will continue to work with DOGE
Despite the difficulties, Musk said he will extend his involvement with DOGE for another year. He emphasized that he’s not going to stop at theoretical reports, but will push for real change in the government apparatus.
