Ural introduces Neo 500 motorcycle for youth: assembled in China

Ural Motorcycles has developed a low-cost model with sidecar, adapted for everyday riding. Production will start in the People’s Republic of China.
Ural Motorcycles, which owns Irbit Motorcycle Factory, has unveiled a new model, a youth sidecar motorcycle called the Ural Neo 500. This is the first product of the brand, focused on ease of operation and affordability. Assembly will be organized not in Russia or Kazakhstan, where Ural already has production facilities, but in China – at the site of partner Yingang.
Characteristics and purpose
Ural Neo 500 gets a 500cc water-cooled gasoline engine that develops 35 hp. The company emphasizes that the motorcycle is designed for everyday seasonal use and is noticeably easier to control than the classic models of the brand.

The target audience is young drivers who want stylish and functional transportation with retro aesthetics, but without excessive weight and technical complexities.
Price and sales launch
In Western markets, where demand for Ural equipment is traditionally high, the new model will cost about $15,000 – the equivalent of 1.2 million rubles. For comparison, the base version of the classic Ural Gear-Up in the U.S. sells for $20,000 (1.6 million rubles). Thus, the Neo 500 will be the most affordable motorcycle in the current lineup of the brand.
