Toyota and Hyundai recall 1.1 million vehicles in the U.S. due to faults

The companies Toyota Motor and Hyundai Motor have announced a total recall of 1.1 million vehicles sold in the U.S. market. The decision is due to identified technical problems that could pose a safety threat. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Trouble at Toyota
Toyota will recall more than 591,000 vehicles, including the Venza, Highlander, Lexus, Tacoma and GR Corolla models. The audit found that a software bug in some of the vehicles could cause the dashboard to fail to display critical data:
- Travel speed,
- brake system warnings,
- tire pressure.
The NHTSA estimates that such a malfunction increases the risk of crashes because the driver does not receive timely signals about the vehicle’s condition.
Trouble at Hyundai
Hyundai Motor is recalling more than 568,000 Palisade crossovers produced between 2020 and 2025. The cause —s unreliable front passenger seat belt retention. In the event of an accident, this could lead to an increased risk of injury.
Widespread inspection
The manufacturers said they will fix the identified defects at their own expense, and vehicle owners will be notified to contact service centers. NHTSA continues to monitor the recall program to minimize the potential impact on motorists.
