Tesla will build a UFO-style charging station

Tesla has unveiled a unique Supercharger charging station project with an unusual futuristic design inspired by an alien theme. It will be built in the US state of New Mexico, in the city of Roswell, a place that has long been a symbol of ufological mythology.

The choice of location is not accidental: it was here in 1947 there was a mysterious crash of an air object, which caused a wave of rumors about the visit of aliens. Later it turned out that it was just a U.S. Air Force weather balloon, but by that time Roswell had already become the epicenter of extraterrestrial mysteries.

The new charging station is tentatively named Cyber-UFO. Its roof is shaped like a classic flying saucer, and its look is a mix of space fiction aesthetics and design elements from Tesla’s next-generation cars, including a distinctive LED stripe.

The station’s canopy – CyberCanopy – will feature RGB lighting and a nearly 21 kW (20.88 kW to be exact) solar array, under which eight charging terminals will be placed. The project is purely thematic in nature and, as Max de Seger, head of Tesla’s U.S. charging stations division, confirmed, will be built as a one-off in honor of the famous «Roswell Incident».

The project will be built in a single piece in honor of the famous «Roswell Incident».

In the future, he said, the company plans to realize several more experimental stations with original architecture – so spectacular that you “will want to go to them not for charging, but for the experience.”
