Apple has begun rolling out a new generation of boarding passes in the Wallet app, and the first airline to support the updates is United Airlines.
Apple Wallet’s new features for travelers
The features were unveiled at WWDC 2025 and became available with the release of iOS 26. Users will now be able to track flight status in Live Activity mode right on the lock screen, view an airport map, and track checked luggage through the Find My locator app.
Apple Wallet is now available for travelers who want to track their flight status in Live Activity mode right on the lock screen, view an airport map, and track checked luggage through the Find My app.
For now, Live Activity has to be manually activated – according to sources, you have to tap a button in Wallet to add the flight tracker to the lock screen. If a user shares a flight with friends, they’ll also be able to see real-time updates, except for personal details like boarding group and seat number.
Sources say that if a user shares a flight with friends, they’ll be able to see live updates as well.
Who will support the innovation next
Apple said United will soon be joined by other major airlines, including Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, Jetstar, Lufthansa, Qantas, Southwest and Virgin Australia.
The expanded support promises to make Wallet a complete digital travel assistant, combining tickets, luggage and navigation in one interface.
