Oppo has unveiled ColorOS 16

Oppo has officially unveiled ColorOS 16 — a new Android 16-based shell. The update brings notable visual improvements, enhanced personalization options, improved artificial intelligence performance, and a focus on stability, power efficiency, and tight integration of devices into the company’s ecosystem.
Oppo has announced a rollout schedule for ColorOS 16 for the Chinese market only for now, but a similar plan is expected for other countries as well.
The Oppo Find N5, Find X8, and OnePlus 13 series flagships will be the first to receive the update as early as October 30, 2025. In November, ColorOS 16 will be available for the Find N3, Reno14, OnePlus 12 and the Ace 5 series. In December, the Find X6, OnePlus 11 and Ace 2 will get the update, and in January 2026 — earlier devices including the Find X5 Pro, Reno12 and K12.

The main visual change to ColorOS 16 — a new Light Field Design with transparent elements and textures reminiscent of Liquid Glass previously seen in iOS and HyperOS. Smooth animations are powered by the Luminous Rendering Engine, and an improved Trinity Engine optimizes system resources for improved performance and reduced power consumption.

According to Oppo, the new OS version provides 37% more stability under load, reduces device heat by 4.1 degrees, improves power efficiency by 13%, and speeds up app launches by 26%.
ColorOS 16 also gets a revamped lock screen with new clock styles, the ability to place it anywhere on the screen, and widget support. Icons and the Flux home screen have been improved, and support for full-screen Always-On Display has been added.

Artificial Intelligence integration is now deeper — AI helps with notes, calendar and voice recorder, while AI Portrait Glow automatically corrects lighting and skin tones in photos. The updated Aqua Dynamics system now supports more than 110 «live services»
Connectivity with other devices has also been improved: the updated O+ Connect now works with Windows and macOS computers, and tablet owners can run up to five apps simultaneously via a new screen mirroring mode.
