A leak has revealed details about the full feature list of Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update
A few days before the official release, the upcoming Samsung One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 series has apparently been completely unraveled. The information comes from well-known insider Tarun Watsa, who shared an inside list of the anticipated changes. While Samsung is likely to leave some of the innovations for later versions, it’s already clear that the update is centered on expanding artificial intelligence capabilities, integrating devices more deeply into the ecosystem, and improving usability.
The key innovations include improvements to AI: Photo Assist now allows for continuous image editing without clogging up the gallery, and Bixby has been given an enhanced dialog mode, making it easier to issue complex commands and view interaction history. Device integration has also been greatly improved through the Storage Share feature, which lets you view files from connected devices right in the My Files app. In addition, Quick Share is smarter, offering contact recommendations, automatically blocking suspicious requests, and helping you share content faster.

UI personalization plans include automatically adjusting the clock on the lock screen so it doesn’t cover faces in photos, updating weather widgets with air quality and precipitation graphs, and adding new features to the Clock app, such as a time zone slider and weather-appropriate alarm themes. In addition, the battery settings page has been redesigned, power saving settings have been improved, and health tracking and device protection options have been expanded.

Work on DeX improvements, partial screen recording, and more user-friendly UI controls are also on the list of changes.
The first beta for the Galaxy S25 series is scheduled to be released as early as mid-December, and then the update will roll out to other devices. Judging by the leak, Samsung is trying to make the interface smoother, smarter and more user-friendly by fixing flaws and adding new features.
