Samsung and Turkish Airlines launch Smart Tagged Baggage service to find lost luggage
Samsung today announced a partnership with Turkish Airlines to use SmartThings Find to find lost luggage from the airline’s passengers.
The companies have jointly launched the Smart Tagged Baggage service. It allows Turkish Airlines passengers to track down lost or delayed luggage through SmartThings Find — Samsung’s device location service. The idea is simple: you put a Galaxy SmartTag in your suitcase. If your luggage gets lost or delayed, you can send Turkish Airlines a link with the location data, attaching it to a missing person’s report.

In addition, the Change Device Image feature in SmartThings Find lets you upload a photo of your luggage directly to the SmartThings app, making it easier to identify in case of loss.
SmartThings Find uses Bluetooth Low Energy and ultra-wideband technology to locate Galaxy devices on a network of more than 700 million devices. Samsung also plans to expand its collaboration with other airlines for its Smart Tagged Baggage service.
