The web has once again revealed details about Motorola’s next flagship smartphone, a model called the Edge 70 Ultra, which will reportedly be the company’s first non-skid Ultra device in years. The device, codenamed Urus, has resurfaced among the rumors again after a new leak from Evan Blass confirms it will use Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.

This coincides with early tests indicating that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, built on a 3nm process, will be the basis for Motorola’s new flagship. It includes a powerful Oryon processor with two 3.8GHz cores and six 3.32GHz cores, as well as an upgraded Adreno graphics adapter and an improved Hexagon neural processor for performance and power efficiency.

The Edge 70 Ultra is expected to feature 16GB of RAM and run Android 16. Preliminary benchmarks show high scores of around 2,600 points in the single-core test and over 7,400 points in the multi-core test, indicating the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.

The gadget is rumored to get a 1.5K OLED display and a rear camera with a periscopic telephoto lens for meaningful zoom capabilities. The model is likely to launch first in China under the Moto X70 Ultra brand, with a global release scheduled for early 2026. The expected price will be around $800 to $900 depending on the bundle.

Names and timelines for official announcements have yet to be confirmed, but we can only hope that this smartphone will be Motorola’s next flagship with promises of high performance and advanced features.
