BenQ has introduced the LU895UST compact laser UST projector with 5000 lumens brightness
BenQ has quietly added a new ultra-short throw laser projector to its professional lineup. The LU895UST delivers 5000 ANSI lumens of brightness in a significantly smaller footprint than most projectors of similar brightness.
This laser projector offers WUXGA resolution and a 0.253:1 projection ratio. It’s capable of creating an image up to 200 inches while remaining just a few centimeters from the wall. BenQ is targeting the device at simulation suites, interactive exhibits and premium educational spaces where high brightness is important but there is no room for classic long throw projectors.
The projector covers 93% of the Rec.709 color space and offers Simulation, HDR10 and sRGB image modes. BenQ also claims a contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1 (FOFO), which is typical for laser models in this class.
Since many usage scenarios involve running multiple projectors simultaneously, the LU895UST comes with image alignment features, including 2D Keystone and a set of tools for precise picture alignment. Ports are standard: two HDMI 2.0b (HDCP 2.2), LAN (RJ45), USB-A and a built-in 10W speaker for simple use cases without external speakers.
One curious feature is the size of the device — 327 × 328.3 × 131.6 mm. The compact body simplifies installation and allows the projector to fit easily into the confined spaces of museums or small simulators. The LU895UST is available now for €3,999 or $4,799.
For venues that need a huge screen in a brightly lit room but still want to save space, this projector looks to be one of BenQ’s most practical solutions in recent times — and a possible new benchmark among compact high-brightness UST models.
