Xiaomi 17 Fold could be the new name of the company’s foldable smartphone

Previously, Xiaomi has been releasing foldable smartphones under the Mix brand, the latest being the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4. However, a new device with model number 26023PN08C and codename pecan has appeared in the database. Importantly, the index PN is characteristic of Xiaomi’s main lineup with digital series, while foldable devices traditionally went with the index PX. This indicates a possible abandonment of the Mix labeling in favor of integration into the Xiaomi 17 series. This way, the new product may not come out as the Mix Fold 5 or 6, but as the Xiaomi 17 Fold. According to sources, the Xiaomi 17 Fold’s camera will be similar to the expected Xiaomi Mix Flip 3. The front will get two modules: the main 16-megapixel OmniVision OV16F and an additional 50-megapixel sensor. The main camera on the back is rumored to be a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 sensor, complemented by a 50-megapixel wide-angle OmniVision OV50M lens. No details on the telephoto lens have been reported yet. The device is positioned as a flagship and will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, according to insiders.
