DLC and remakes will be eligible for all The Game Awards

Organizers of The Game Awards, one of the gaming industry’s premier events, have confirmed that DLC, remakes, remasters and add-ons will now be eligible for all award categories. This information was released on the event’s official website ahead of the shortlists being announced on November 20.

The show’s website now states:
«The Game Awards aims to honor the best creative and technical achievements of the year, regardless of the format of their release.
Additions, seasons, DLC, remakes and remasters can be nominated in all categories if the judges feel that the new creative and technical work deserves to be recognized. The novelty of the content as well as its price and value should be taken into account.»
Jury members have been notified of the new rules in advance so that they can take them into account when forming the nominations.
