Google will seriously improve its smartphone-to-smartphone data transfer feature

The tool for transferring data between Android smartphones has improved quite a bit over the years. That said, it’s still inferior to the solution Apple offers. One of the main problems with third-party apps is that when transferring, some data is almost always inevitably lost, or not fully transferred.

Google plans to make major improvements to its built-in Android data migration tool. The main new feature will be the ability to transfer data even after setting up a new phone. For now, this feature is only available during the initial setup of a new smartphone.

The second improvement will be directly in the speed of data transfer. The transfer function will use the «MultiTransportD2DTransport» protocol, which simultaneously utilizes Wi-Fi and wired connections, increasing transfer speeds.

Either way, this is good news for Android users, as the data transfer tool has been in need of an update for quite some time.
