Lava launches budget-friendly Yuva Star 3 smartphone

Indian brand Lava has expanded its Yuva Star lineup, targeting first-time smartphone buyers with the new Lava Yuva Star 3. This follow-up to the series, initially unveiled in August 2024, aims to offer solid performance on a budget.

The Yuva Star 3 runs on the Unisoc SC9863A chipset and ships with a clean version of Android 15 Go-free of any preloaded bloatware. It comes equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, which you can extend up to 256GB using a microSD card.

On the front, there’s a 6.75-inch LCD display featuring an HD+ resolution and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. A 5-megapixel front camera sits housed in a waterdrop notch. Around back, the phone sports a dual-camera setup with a 13MP main sensor.

Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging via USB-C. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, anonymous voice call recording, and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The Yuva Star 3 will be available in two colors: Indus Black and Siachen White. Both variants are priced at ₹7,499 (roughly $83 or €70) and will hit the market next month.
