Months after the release of Grok 4 and the highly problematic situation surrounding the chatbot’s anti-Semitic remarks, Ilon Musk’s xAI is already announcing a new model – Grok 4 Fast. It is a faster and more efficient version of the artificial intelligence compared to its predecessor.

Main features of the Grok 4 Fast

• Performance: according to xAI, Grok 4 Fast delivers a level of performance similar to Grok 4 while using an average of 40% fewer thinking tokens.
• Cost: the model offers a 98% price reduction, achieving the same results in frontier tests regardless of the type of task – whether coding or browsing.
• Architecture: like OpenAI’s GPT-5, the new model includes a unified architecture that allows you to switch between a «logical» model for complex queries and a «non-logical» model for fast responses.

Test results and availability

On the LMArena platform, which compares different artificial intelligence models, Grok 4 Fast ranked first in search tasks and eighth in text-based tasks. xAI has made the model available to all users, on desktop, iOS and Android, in a free version.
