OnePlus is preparing two new Nord smartphones

OnePlus will expand its lineup of mid-budget Nord smartphones with two models at once – Nord 5 and Nord CE5. According to the latest leaks, both new products will be unveiled on July 8, which is atypical for the brand: previously, the devices of the series were released separately.
The new strategy may be related to the growing competition in the mid-range segment, where OnePlus is actively competing with Motorola, Samsung and Xiaomi. The smartphones will get notable technical improvements, including capacious batteries and high-frequency OLED displays.
OnePlus Nord 5 will get a flagship chip and 100-watt charging
The main feature of the Nord 5 will be the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chip, previously used in the Ace 5 Racing Edition and Realme GT 7. The device will sport a 1.5K OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and a built-in fingerprint scanner.
The smartphone will feature a dual main camera: a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle module. The front camera will have a 16MP resolution.

Nord CE5 will be a simplified version with the same camera
OnePlus Nord CE5 will reportedly get a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device will also feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The camera will remain the same as the older model: dual rear cameras with a 50MP main sensor and a 16MP front-facing one. However, the Nord CE5 will feature an even more capacious 7,100 mAh battery and 80W charging.
There’s no official confirmation of a release date yet, but the launch of the two devices at the same time could signal a shift in OnePlus’ product strategy in the mid-range segment.
