Qualcomm will announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in late October, but it’s already being tested by phone makers. The Nubia Red Magic 9 with this chipset made its way through Geekbench with a whopping 5,977 multi-core scores, 20 percent more than Qualcomm’s current second-generation chipset.

The phone has model number NX769J, and we’re assuming it’s the ZTE nubia Red Magic 9, which will have 12GB of RAM and come with Android 14. The motherboard is listed as pineapple — the same as the Samsung Galaxy S24 device that has been on Geekbench. However, the results are different due to different versions of the benchmark platform.

It is expected that Qualcomm will introduce a new architecture for the flagship chips — the CPU will be 1x Cortex-X4 + 5x Cortex-A720 + 2x Cortex-A520, and the GPU should be named Adreno 750 with 10MB of L3 cache, 20% more than in current flagships. We’ll learn more details on October 24, which is a month ahead of the Snapdragon Summit.
