31 Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones won’t get Android 16 – list published

The company Xiaomi is gearing up for the release of the HyperOS 3 shell, which will come in two versions: based on Android 15 and Android 16. However, for a number of devices, there won’t be an upgrade to Android 16 – they’ll be limited to the HyperOS 3 firmware on Android 15.
Which devices won’t update to Android 16
According to the resource Xiaomi Time, the list includes 31 models, among which there are even former flagships.

- Xiaomi 12T
- Xiaomi 12T Pro
- Xiaomi Civi 3

Redmi smartphones:
- Redmi 12 / 12 5G
- Redmi 13C / 13C 5G / 13R
- Redmi K50 Ultra
- Redmi K60
- Redmi Note 12 4G / Note 12 NFC 4G
- Redmi Note 12R
- Redmi Note 12S
- Redmi Note 12T Pro
- Redmi Note 12 Turbo
- Redmi Note 13 4G / Note 13 4G NFC
- Redmi Note 13 5G

Poco smartphones:

All of these devices will get HyperOS 3, but only on Android 15, without upgrading to the next version of the OS.
When HyperOS 3 will be released
Xiaomi has not yet announced a release date for HyperOS 3. What is known is that the company has already switched development to the new firmware and is preparing a beta program based on Android 16.
Owners of fresh models, such as the Xiaomi 15 or 14T Pro, will be able to try the new version before others by enrolling in the test program.
What this means for users
For owners of the devices on the list, the HyperOS 3 update will be the last major update. To be among the first to get the new features and improvements, you’ll have to consider buying a more recent model as early as 2026.
