New patch for Cyberpunk 2077 adds RTX 50 support

CD Projekt RED has released update 2.21 for Cyberpunk 2077, which is available now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The patch focuses on improving the photo mode, as well as introducing DLSS 4 support on PC, which opens up new possibilities for owners of Nvidia RTX 50 series graphics cards.

Photo Mode: more features and bug fixes

The update has greatly improved the way Photo Mode works. Players can now summon characters like Nibbles and Adam Smasher while in the air or underwater. In addition, bugs related to the display of Adam Smasher’s glowing implants and the correctness of his facial expressions have been fixed.

Other improvements include:

  • Characters added to a scene are saved in presets and remain visible when backgrounds are added.
  • Fixed bugs with camera positioning, NPC disappearance and lighting settings.
  • Added bug fixes for features such as camera rotation, background images and interface.

Owners of the new Nvidia RTX 50 graphics cards can now take advantage of DLSS 4. The technology enables frame rate increases by using AI to generate up to three frames per render. This ensures smooth images even at high graphics settings, with the ability to achieve more than 200 frames per second.

DLSS 4 also introduced a new Transformer model that improves lighting, detail in motion, and overall image stability. Additionally, artifacts and display issues have been fixed when using DLSS Ray Reconstruction.

  • Improved NPC and vehicle behavior in various events in Knight City.
  • Fixed bugs in missions, such as Johnny Silverhand appearing incorrectly or problems with disabling Aguillard’s imprint.
  • Improved performance mode on Xbox Series S and the gallery interface on Xbox.

Console and cross-platform fixes

Bugs related to screenshot display, graphics settings, and UI interaction have been fixed on consoles. Xbox now notifies players if access to screenshots is blocked due to privacy settings.
