Xiaomi is preparing to launch the YU7 electric crossover vehicle

After the successful debut of the SU7 sedan, Xiaomi is getting closer to its next premiere – the YU7, its first electric crossover. The company’s CEO Lei Jun has shared fresh images that give a detailed look at the design and key features of the new product.
Design and Dimensions
Externally, the YU7 continues the styling of the SU7, with a similar front end and recognizable signature design elements. A LiDAR sensor is prominently displayed on the roof, confirming the presence of an advanced driver assistance system similar to that found in the SU7.
The YU7 has a LiDAR sensor on the roof.
The crossover will offer 26 wheel options, including a model with a turbofan design.
Dimensions of the YU7:
– Length – 4,999 mm
– Width – 1,996 mm
– Height – 1,608 mm
– Wheelbase – 3,000 mm
This makes it noticeably larger than the Tesla Model Y, but slightly shorter than the Nio EL8

Features
The YU7 will get three powertrain versions at launch:
– Basic: a single electric motor on the rear axle with 235 kW (315 hp), powered by a LFP battery.
– Medium: all-wheel drive with two motors and a total output of 365 kW.
– Top: all-wheel drive, total power of 508 kW, NMC battery with 96.3 kWh or 101.7 kWh (depending on equipment).
Release date and price
The Xiaomi YU7 is expected to hit the Chinese market in June-July 2025. The crossover will be priced from 250,000 yuan (€28,000) to 400,000 yuan (€49,500).
For international buyers, you’ll have to wait longer – global export of Xiaomi’s electric cars is scheduled for 2027.

Xiaomi consolidates its position in the electric car market
Sales of the SU7 in China are breaking records, with waiting times for some configurations already reaching 11 weeks and the SU7 Ultra version completely sold out two years ahead. Amid this hype, Xiaomi is aggressively expanding production, attracting new investment to accelerate the construction of the next phase of its factory.
