Toyota has updated the bZ4X electric crossover: more power and range

Toyota continues to refine its bZ4X electric crossover, addressing key shortcomings of previous versions. The updated version gets new batteries, more powerful motors and enhanced charging capabilities, making it more competitive in the electric vehicle market.

Two new battery options
The 2026 bZ4X will offer two battery variants. The base version now features a 57.7 kWh battery that powers a 167 hp (123 kW) front-wheel-drive motor. The WLTP range is 445 kilometers.

For those who want more power and range, Toyota offers a 73.1 kWh battery pack. It’s available in two configurations:

Improved battery and charging
Toyota has significantly refined its battery technology. The new batteries have improved energy density and increased cell count. For the first time, the company has used silicon carbide semiconductors to improve system efficiency.
Battery preheating has been introduced for fast charging in cold conditions. A 22-kilowatt on-board charging module is now available in higher trims, although maximum DC charging power remains at 150 kW. Toyota promises charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
