The Porsche Taycan has set a new Guinness World Record.

The Porsche Taycan electric car has once again been in the spotlight, setting yet another achievement. This time the car broke the world record for the longest drift on ice among electric cars.
New record in extreme conditions
The Taycan GTS was driven by instructor Jens Richter on the icy track at the Porsche Arctic Center in Levi, Finland. He managed to complete 132 laps in a controlled skid. In total, the car covered 17.503 kilometers in 46 minutes using only throttle and steering control.
The car was equipped with Michelin commercial tires with 1mm studs. The drift track had a diameter of 59 meters. The previous record was 14.809 kilometers.
Test of Strength
The record attempt took place on January 14 and was held in difficult weather conditions. The first attempt was aborted after about 11 kilometers due to unexpectedly rapid breakdown of the ice surface. However, the second attempt was successful and was recorded by Guinness World Records judge Carl Saville, who immediately presented Richter with an official certificate of the new record.
The Taycan records continue

This record is the fourth achievement for the Porsche Taycan. Previously, the electric car set records for the biggest drop in altitude traveled by an electric car, the fastest indoor speed and the longest drift in an electric car.
