The Insteroid’s exterior is as expressive as possible. The rear end is dominated by a massive double antifender, emphasizing the model’s potential sporty characteristics. A widened rear track gives the car a stable appearance, while ventilated arches and 21-inch wheels reinforce the muscular style. An integrated safety cage hints at a racing orientation, while a small 3D-printed detail on the fender mount adds a modern touch.

The name Insteroid is a combination of the words «Inster» and «Steroid», reflecting Hyundai’s desire to “enhance” the experience of driving an electric car. This is evident in the in-game details, from the controls to the dashboard to the braking system.

The tech specs remain a mystery for now

Hyundai is not yet revealing details about the Insteroid’s performance, but its design hints at possible high dynamic performance. The widened track and overall chassis proportions evoke the Hyundai RN24 concept, a drift car based on the Ioniq 5 N. Some of the details in the teaser images are also reminiscent of WRC race cars, confirming the company’s desire to create an electric car that feels like it’s stepped out of a video game into the real world.

When to expect an official debut

In the Insteroid teasers, you may notice the caption “Looking for something?” – a cryptic message that perhaps refers to Hyundai’s desire to create a deeper emotional connection with electric cars. The concept is scheduled to make its full debut in early April 2025. At that time, details about its performance and production prospects will be known.
