AvtoVAZ creates unique Lada Iskra for its 55th anniversary – first photos
By ForGeeks AvtoVAZ is preparing a symbolic project for its 55th anniversary – a special version of Lada Iskra, which will be decorated with surnames and initials of all current employees of the company. The car will be part of a festive ceremony scheduled for April 19 and will likely take a place of honor in the plant’s museum.
The whole team is on the body: sedan as a monument to people
According to the Togliatti-based Avtograd News, AvtoVAZ is finalizing preparations for a gala event to mark the date of the first production car in the plant’s history. The centerpiece of the celebration will be a white Lada Iskra sedan in the maximum configuration – its body is decorated in the form of a large-scale «gallery of names» which includes data of 36,500 employees of the auto giant.
The car is already finished and hidden under a cover until the day of presentation. According to the plan, the car will become a symbol of teamwork, uniting generations of employees of the plant.

Historical roll call to the past: how it was in 1991
This is not the first time AvtoVAZ has made such a gesture. In 1991, for the 25th anniversary of the plant, Togliatti already created a commemorative model – then it was VAZ-21099, on the body of which more than 110 thousand names were placed. The design process then took three days, and the inscriptions covered literally every element – from the pillars to the jabot on the hood.
This time, the number of workers has been tripled, allowing them to use a larger font and not fill the entire body. For example, the trunk lid of the new Iskra remained untouched, unlike the “ninety-ninth”, on which the names were applied even on the most inaccessible areas.
The start of mass assembly – later, and for now only the first copies
Although the presentation of the car is already soon, mass production of the new Iskra model will not start until the second half of May. According to insiders, during the spring holidays AvtoVAZ will modernize the Granta assembly line to adapt it for the production of the new model.
