One of the most talked about new features in Android 16 Beta 2 is the enhanced charge limiting feature. In the current version of the OxygenOS 15 shell (which is still labeled as such in settings despite the updated Android base), there’s more flexible control over what level the battery is charged to.

While previously you could only enable a fixed limit of 80% (via Settings > Battery > Battery Status), the system now lets you choose from four levels – 80%, 85%, 90% or 95%. The increments are 5%, giving the user the ability to find a balance between battery life and everyday autonomy.

Although the current build remains preliminary and developer-focused, it gives a clear indication of what features will make it into the final release. A stable version of Android 16 for OnePlus and other manufacturers is expected to be released by the end of June 2025.
