R1 Design Bureau is deploying an AI solution from WMT AI to automate document management and project data analysis. The technology is expected to cut routine task time by 40% and deliver a 48% ROI within the first year.
The engineering firm is the first in its industry to launch a large-scale AI transformation project, turning years of expertise into a centralized knowledge system. Built on a proprietary “neurobase,” the solution is fully integrated into daily workflows.
The core of the system is a unified intelligent database that organizes internal standards, regulations, GOSTs, technical specification templates, and archives of completed projects. On this foundation, an AI assistant with a chat interface was deployed, giving 100 employees instant access to the company’s collective expertise.
The system doesn’t just retrieve documents – it understands their content. The AI agent analyzes text files, spreadsheets, and PDFs to provide precise answers to queries. Currently operating in test mode, the tool is already delivering tangible results.
The key advantage of this solution is its active role in daily operations. The AI agent assists in creating and verifying documents by cross-checking them against approved templates and flagging possible inconsistencies. It also performs analytics on completed actions, tailored to the company’s unique decision-making processes.
This allows a significant portion of routine review and analytical work to be offloaded to artificial intelligence. Engineers and project managers can focus on more complex challenges, while standardized document handling improves the overall reliability and predictability of project execution.
The financial impact is clear: productivity in core processes will rise by 35-50%, first-year ROI will hit 48%, and three-year cumulative profitability is forecasted at 588%. The onboarding process for new hires could speed up twofold, thanks to instant access to a database of past mistakes and best practices.
“For us, it was crucial to create not just software, but a true digital assistant that understands the specifics of engineering. We’re not deploying an off-the-shelf product but building a system that learns from a large body of company data and integrates deeply into key business processes. The AI agent will become a new team member, taking over mundane tasks and letting engineers concentrate on the core of their projects,” said Igor Nikitin, founder of WMT AI and WMT Group.
“This innovation will impact not only our employees but also our clients. We’re gaining a powerful tool that makes the full experience of our company accessible and helps find the best solutions for clients,” added Dmitry Reutt, founder of R1 Design Bureau.
